I'm a Big Girl Now!

It has always been pretty difficult to get Julia to sleep. If she fell asleep, we could put her in her crib, but starting out there hasn't been easy. We tried letting her cry it out, but she would cry and cry and cry. We've tried lullabies, ocean sounds, special stuffed animals and even a loud fan in her room like Mrs. Tammy, the babysitter. At Mrs. Tammy's house, when Julia "looks tired", she lays her down in a pack n play and she falls asleep immediately. This has always puzzled us. We thought she was just testing us, but when Mrs. Tammy kept her at our house last week, Julia began screaming when they got near her bed, just as she had with us so many times. Mrs. Tammy could not believe how she reacted and now realized what we had been going through. When she laid her down in our bed, she immediately went to sleep. So, we decided that we would put her into the "big bed" in the spare bedroom. I was apprehensive at first because I didn't want her to fall off. We surrounded the bed with pillows, laid her down and amazingly enough, she went right to sleep and slept 11 hours the first night. So now we are going to either convert her crib into the full size or put her in a twin bed. Problem Solved!!
