Our New Arrival
Joseph Matthew Young was born via induction Friday, March 13, 2009 at 7:29 p.m. He weighed 7 pounds and 15 ounces and was 20 inches long. The proud parents and big sister are thrilled at his long-awaited arrival. Julia has adjusted so well to the big girl status; wanting to hold him and kiss him often. She eagerly talks about him and even has chosen a nickname for him. When we were discussing baby names, we would ask her if she liked each name. She always said, "No, I don't like Joseph" (and pronounced it correctly). From the moment she was introduced to him, she has called him Joe-Fish. It is so cute when she says it because she is so obviously fond of him. We wanted her to feel special so she was the first family member to come into the room to meet him. She was excited, yet apprehensive about the situation. She was happy when he gave her a special present- a new baby boy baby doll so she could have a baby of her own. She started out saying, "That's Mommy's baby and this is my baby", but soon started calling Joe-Fish her own. Everyone is home and adapting to our new way of life. We are so thankful to have two beautiful, healthy children.
